If the land is not taken within the stipulated time frame, the farmer will be allowed to sell the land to another buyer. Apart from this, if the authority refuses to purchase the land, the concerned officer will also have to give a clear reason for the same. This provision is being considered as a transparent step in the interest of farmers.
