Balochistan Violence: A major bombings occurred in Quetta city of Pakistan on Tuesday. So far 25 people died and around 30 people were injured.
Bomb Blast in Pakistan: The biggest attack took place in Balochistan’s capital Quetta. A suicide bomber here targeted the Balochistan National Party rally. The blast took place in the parking of the stadium where hundreds of people were present. The explosion killed 14 people and many people were injured. The condition of seven of the injured is said to be critical. The second attack took place near the Iran border in Balochistan, in which 5 people lost their lives. The third attack took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where a suicide bomber targeted the soldiers’s base. In this, 6 soldiers also died.
Bomb blast in a rally in Quetta
Balochistan is the largest and resource-rich region of Pakistan but in terms of development and facilities it is behind. There are often incidents of violence and terrorist attacks here. At the rally in Quetta on Tuesday, party chief Akhtar Mangal was coming down by giving a speech. As soon as he landed from the stage, he exploded shortly after. Sharing the post on social media, he said that he is safe.

Balochistan struggling with rebellion and terrorist attacks for a decade
China has been building roads and other major projects in Balochistan since 2014. This work is being done under China’s One Belt, One Road Scheme. But the local people there say that they are not getting any special benefit from these schemes. They allege that only outsiders are taking advantage of development, while the people of Balochistan are still facing the problem of poverty and unemployment.
Violence increased in 2024
Pakistani security forces have been dealing with rebellion and violence in Balochistan for the past decade. In 2024, violence increased here and 782 people were killed. On Tuesday, a domestic bombings occurred on a security forces convoy in an area near the Iran border of Balochistan. Five paramilitary personnel were killed and four injured. No group has taken responsibility for both these attacks.
