Ibrahim Ali Khan, the son of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, made his acting debut with ‘Nadaaniyan’ earlier this year. The movie failed to impress the audience and received considerable criticism for its poor execution and underdeveloped characters. At the same time, Ibrahim fell prey to social media trolls for being a ‘nepokid’. In a recent interview, the actor responded to the ongoing trolling and scrutiny associated with carrying a film legacy.
Ibrahim about his peers
Ibrahim spoke about how he had initially planned to enter the industry earlier but began to notice a shift when his sister Sara Ali Khan and her contemporaries began their careers. “I realised that the tide was turning when Sara, Janhvi [Kapoor], and Ananya [Panday] were starting out. Technically speaking, nepotism has been around forever, but these girls became targets,” he shared in an interview with GQ India.
Ibrahim acknowledges the changing expectations that come with his background. “I was prepared for it, but didn’t expect it to be so harsh,” he admitted.

Khushi Kapoor’s experience
Apart from Ibrahim, his ‘Nadaaniyan’ co-star Khushi Kapoor also faced subtle trolling for her acting skills in the film. Her choice of roles also became a topic of discussion, as her previous movie Loveyapa with Junaid Khan did not sit well with audiences or critics.
