IPL 2025: BCCI creates Three Revamped Draft Schedules, New Announcement Date Revealed!

The IPL 2025 is set to resume for its final chapter this season and the BCCI is already in progress to announce the revamped schedule for the matches.

Amid the India-Pakistan border tensions, the IPL was postponed for a week from May 9. A day before, the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was also cancelled midway due to security reasons. But after the ceasefire and de-escalation, the IPL is set for resumption.

As per a report from Cricbuzz, BCCI has already prepared three draft schedules for the final phase. As per the report, the apex body of the Indian cricket council will meet today (May 12) and finalize the roadmap for the IPL 2025.

What are the BCCI Schedule Plans?

BCCI is contemplating hosting the IPL 2025 matches as soon as possible. Due to other commitments and series after the IPL, the season is likely to conclude by May 30. As per the latest development, the matches are set to start from May 16 or May 17. As per the report, the two plans are-

BCCI Plan 1

The matches can be played in the traditional home and away format except for Dharamshala.

BCCI Plan 2

A much more confined venue which is spread across Southern India – Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru to be precise. BCCI has already communicated with the franchises to reassemble ahead of the resumption of the league.

BCCI to announce plan by Today

As per the report, BCCI will finalize the new schedule by Monday night and the matches are set to commence from this weekend.

Although many foreigners have already departed for their countries, the IPL will proceed without the unwilling ones, if they refuse to come back. There will not be any compulsion for the overseas players to return to India as well. Two Aussies, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood, are already said to be not returning for the remainder of the tournament.

With the duo not coming back, it can be a big blow for Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals – who are the franchises for Hazlewood and Starc, respectively.
