Delhi Capitals, the most consistent team in the history of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), continued its consistency in the fourth season as well. Under the leadership of new captain Jemimah Rodriguez, Delhi Capitals made it to the finals of WPL 2026. In the eliminator match played on 3 February, Delhi defeated Gujarat Giants very easily by 7 wickets. With this, Delhi confirmed its place in the final for the fourth consecutive time. Delhi, which has lost the last three finals, will face former champion Royal Challengers Bangalore for the title.
The start of this season was not good for Delhi Capitals, who have been playing the finals since the first season of WPL and after 2 consecutive defeats, the team got its first win in the third match. But since then, the franchise led by Jemima made a strong comeback and made a place in the eliminator. Here the franchise was facing Gujarat Giants, against whom it had already lost two matches this season by 4 runs and 3 runs. But this time the bullies of Delhi won.
In this match played in Vadodara, Gujarat batted first and scored a strong score of 168 runs after losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Star opener Beth Mooney (62 not out) played a big role in taking the team to this point, who remained there from the beginning till the end. The team had lost 4 wickets including Sophie Devine and captain Ashley Gardner for just 59 runs. But Mooney kept the team under control and scored a fighting half-century. Georgia Wareham also scored a quick 35 runs. For Delhi, West Indies all-rounder Shinel Henry took 3 wickets and young Indian bowler Nandini Sharma took 2 wickets.
