Sankashti Chaturthi 2026: Chaturthi Tithi is considered very sacred and special in Sanatan Dharma.. Sankashti Chaturthi fast is observed every month on the Chaturthi date of Krishna Paksha. This fast has been dedicated to the remover of obstacles and the first revered Lord Ganesha. Sankashti Chaturthi which falls in the month of February or Phalgun is known as Dwijapriya Sankashti Chaturthi. On the day of Dwijapriya Sankashti Chaturthi, there is a tradition to worship Lord Ganesha with devotion and observe fast.
According to Hindu beliefs, by worshiping and fasting on the day of Dwijapriya Sankashti Chaturthi, Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, becomes very happy and bestows blessings of happiness and prosperity in life. Lord Ganesha fulfills every wish. On this day, during the puja, debt free Ganesh stotra is recited with true heart. It is believed that by reciting the debt-free Ganesh Stotra, one gets freedom from the burden of debt. Along with this, financial benefits are also obtained. Wealth and prosperity increases in the house.

According to the Vedic calendar, Chaturthi Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month is starting on 5th February at 12:09 midnight. This date will end on February 6 at 12:22 midnight. Udayatithi is considered in Sanatan Dharma. In such a situation, according to Udayathi, Dwijapriya Sankashti Chaturthi fast will be observed on 5 February 2026, Thursday. Also Lord Ganesha will be worshipped.
