In Bengaluru, a 10th class student committed suicide by jumping from the 7th floor due to fear of going home after drinking alcohol. In connection with the incident that took place after a school farewell party, the police have registered a case against the pub for serving liquor to a minor.

Bengaluru: The case of a student who was afraid of going home after drinking alcohol in a pub and committed suicide by jumping from the seventh floor has come to light of late. In connection with this incident, RR Nagar Police Station has registered its own case and started investigation.

The boy studied in class 10th in a private school. After the farewell party in the school was over on January 31, all the friends had a drinking party in a pub in RR Nagar. The drunk boy was dropped by his friend Vishnuvardhan at his apartment on Samadhi Road. But due to drinking alcohol, the boy was afraid to go home, so he committed suicide by jumping from the 7th floor of the apartment.

Case registered under JJ-Excise Act

During investigation it was revealed that the boy had consumed alcohol in the pub. Police have started action against the pub which allowed a minor boy to consume alcohol. Officials have said that a case has been registered in this regard under JJ Act and Excise Act and investigation is being done.
