Purnima Tithi will last for 2 days
According to the Panchang, the full moon date of Phalgun month will start from 5:54 pm on Monday, March 2 and will continue till 5:07 pm on the next day i.e. Tuesday, March 3. If we talk about 2nd March, due to Bhadra Kaal on this day, the pure auspicious time of Holika Dahan is not available, then the sutak of lunar eclipse will start from the morning of 3rd March. Because of this, even on this day there is no pure auspicious time for Holika Dahan.

When will Bhadra stay on Holi?
Every year there is a coincidence of Bhadra on Holika Dahan. Same thing is happening this time also. According to the Panchang, Bhadra will start from 5:45 pm on Monday, March 2 and will continue till 05:23 am the next day. Therefore, during this period, the pure auspicious time for Holika Dahan is not available.

Lunar eclipse will happen on March 3
The first lunar eclipse of the year 2026 will take place on Tuesday, March 3. This eclipse will start at 3:23 pm and will last till 6:47 pm. Since this eclipse will be visible in India, its sutak will also be considered here. The sutak of this lunar eclipse will start from 6:20 am in the morning and will last till 06:47 pm. Purnima Tithi will end even before the Sutak ends. Therefore even on this day there is no pure auspicious time for Holika Dahan.

When to do Holika Dahan 2026? Know the auspicious time
Scholars say that Holika Dahan can be performed during the tail phase of Bhadra. The tail period of Bhadra will be from 1:25 to 2:37 on the night of March 2. If you are not able to perform Holika Dahan in this Muhurta, then you can perform Holika Dahan before the start of Sutak on the morning of 3rd March i.e. between 05:24 to 06:35 in the morning. If you are not able to perform Holika Dahan even at this time, then perform Holika Dahan after the Sutak ends on the evening of 3rd March.
