Tourists left stranded in the sea, local boats saved their lives
According to the report of Vietnamese media website VnExpress International, this accident happened in the sea near An Thoi on July 11, 2026 at around 10:30 am. There was no rain at that time, but the waves in the sea were very rough and dangerous. Despite bad weather, tourist boats were being operated there, which became the reason for this major accident. When other tourist boats passing nearby saw the boat capsizing at the time of the accident, they immediately ran to help.

A local boat operator involved in the rescue operation said, ‘Our boat reached the incident site in just 5 minutes, but the rescue operation was very challenging, because many Indian tourists were trapped inside the boat due to it capsizing. After a lot of effort, only a few people could be brought out conscious.
Indian Embassy took command
The Indian Embassy in Vietnam has confirmed this tragic incident on social media platform X (Twitter). The embassy said that they are in constant touch with the local administration and are closely monitoring the situation. Control rooms were immediately set up in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to help affected families and share information.
