BTS x Netflix details: Global pop icons BTS are officially returning to the world stage, and they’re doing it on a scale that matches their cultural impact. After nearly four years away from group activities, BTS will headline a landmark live performance titled BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG, streaming exclusively on Netflix on March 21.
The concert will air live at 8:00 PM KST (5:00 PM IST) and will be broadcast from Gwanghwamun, one of Seoul’s most symbolic public spaces. For the unversed, the performance marks BTS’ first global stage appearance since their hiatus. The show also celebrates the release of their new album ARIRANG, which drops a day earlier on March 20.
BTS comeback goes global with Netflix
Netflix’s collaboration with HYBE ensures the comeback reaches millions of fans across the globe in real time. The live event is directed by Hamish Hamilton, known for handling major global broadcasts, adding further scale to what is already being called a historic return.
The celebration doesn’t end with the concert. Netflix will follow the live show with a new documentary, BTS: The Return, premiering worldwide on March 27. Directed by Bao Nguyen, the film offers an intimate look at the group’s journey back to music after completing South Korea’s mandatory military service. Shot largely in Los Angeles, the documentary captures quieter, reflective moments as the seven members reconnect, create together again, and navigate how time apart has reshaped them both personally and artistically.
Rather than focusing on spectacle, the documentary explores process. It traces how BTS revisit their roots, honour their shared past, and imagine a future without being confined by expectations. For fans, it promises rare access to conversations and creative spaces usually kept private.
ARIRANG and BTS World Tour details
The Netflix announcement follows confirmation of BTS’ fifth studio album ARIRANG, described as a deeply introspective body of work exploring identity, heritage, and artistic evolution. The album will anchor the ARIRANG World Tour (2026–2027), which spans 34 regions and 82 shows across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East.
Since debuting in 2013, BTS, including RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook, have redefined global pop. With multiple Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s, sold-out stadium tours, and five GRAMMY nominations, their return is poised to be one of the most significant moments for the ARMYs.
