Álex Rins was able to ride with a new, more powerful engine during the MotoGP test day held in Jerez this past Monday.
The Monster Energy Yamaha rider was pleased and encouraged by this update to the YZR-M1 – which is unrelated to the V4 being developed in parallel.
Extra power can sometimes bring additional issues, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here. At least, judging by Rins’s words when asked whether braking had become more difficult:
– Not in this case, because we tried something in the chassis set-up that helps me to reduce the bike’s speed. So, this is clearly an advantage.
