What is special in this new agreement?
The announcement came after a recent phone conversation between Modi and former US President Donald Trump. The main thing from India’s side is clear – the tariff on Indian goods in America has been reduced, due to which Indian products will now be easily sold in the American market.
Trump said in his post that this is a “big trade agreement”, in which India has promised to reduce tariff and non-tariff barriers on American products and buy energy, technology, agricultural products worth more than $ 500 billion from the US. However, the Indian government has not yet said it publicly.
