New Delhi: Mahanaryaman Scindia has outlined his vision for the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) after taking over as the president of the state cricketing body. The 29-year-old became the youngest MPCA chief after getting elected unopposed. Son of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Mahanaryaman is the third generation of the erstwhile Gwalior royal family to head the MPCA.
Mahanaryaman, who is also the vice-president of the Gwalior Division Cricket Association and the president of the Madhya Pradesh T20 League (MPL), said he wants to take cricket to villages and other remote parts of the state, making the sport accessible to all. The MPCA chief also vowed to promote the women’s game and provide more opportunities to female talent across the state.
“We will take cricket to villages, promote cricket in remote parts of the state. We want to encourage women’s cricket and give opportunities to our daughters and our sisters. We also want to resolve all the issues being faced by the district associations and divisions in the state,” Mahanaryaman told reporters after replacing Abilash Khandekar as the president of MPCA.
Mahanaryaman also highlighted that Indore has been selected as one of the venues for the upcoming ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 in India, promising to bring more cricketing events to the city. The Holkar Stadium in Indore will host five matches in the tournament. However, the MPCA president maintained dignified silence on the chances of IPL matches taking place in the city.
“I will bring something new every year in Indore, starting with the Women’s World Cup, which will be held here. On IPL matches in Indore, I cannot say anything as of now,” he told the reporters.

Will try to make MPCA no.1 in the country: Mahanaryaman
Mahanaryaman, who has been active in cricket administration for a while now, also vowed to continue MPCA’s legacy and take the cricketing body to greater heights. He lauded the former presidents of the cricketing body for their great work in the past and said he will try to make MPCA the best state association in the country.
“All the past presidents have done tremendous work, and I will try to take that legacy forward to make our association the number one in the country,” said the 29-year-old.
Mahanaryaman began his journey in cricket administration when he was appointed as the president of the Gwalior Division Cricket Association and became a lifetime member of the MPCA in 2022. He played a key role in the launch of the Madhya Pradesh T20 League, the state’s only premier franchise tournament and oversaw the smooth execution of the 2025 season, which was a grand success.
