Anoop Kumar Bedi, a senior executive associated with the fintech industry, has shared the experience of this journey in his LinkedIn post, which is rapidly winning the hearts of people on social media.
An innocent wish that changed the meaning of travel
Anup Kumar Bedi was sitting on his window seat. Then a child of about seven years came to them with his father and politely asked if he could sit on the window seat. The child’s father immediately said that there is no pressure if changing the seat is inconvenient. Smiling, Anup gave his seat to the child without any delay. The joy of the child as soon as he got the seat was worth seeing. He looked towards the clouds for a few moments, then placed his head on his father’s shoulder and fell into a deep sleep. He slept almost throughout the flight.
The real story came out before landing
During a conversation shortly before the flight landed, the child’s father told that his son was undergoing treatment for severe aplastic anemia at the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center in Delhi for the last eight months. During the treatment, the family went through many difficult times and at times even hope seemed lost. Doctors had recently allowed the child to travel for the first time, so he was returning home after the treatment was completed. After this the father told something which made the whole incident emotional. He said his son told him, “Papa, when our plane is above the clouds, I will be a little closer to God and can say thank you to Him for healing me.”
Thinking changed in a moment
Anoop became emotional after hearing this. The child whom they had considered just an excited traveler some time ago, now appeared to them as a brave warrior returning after winning the biggest battle of his life.
