‘Ground Zero’ box office collection day 2 (live): Emraan Hashmi starrer struggles, earns less than Rs 2 crore

‘Ground Zero’, directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar , is a hard-hitting action thriller based on the true story of BSF officer Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey and his pivotal 2003 operation against terrorist Ghazi Baba. Despite a compelling narrative and a talented star cast featuring Emraan Hashmi, Sai Tamhankar, and Zoya Hussain, the film has opened to a lukewarm response. Released theatrically on April 25, 2025, ‘Ground Zero’ collected ₹1.15 crore on its opening day.

Day 2 sees a sharp dip

The momentum for ‘Ground Zero’ did not pick up on its second day. As per early estimates, the film earned only Rs 0.23 crore on Saturday, taking its two-day total to Rs 1.38 crore India net. The low occupancy rate of 5.60% in morning shows on Day 2 reflects the film’s struggle to attract more audiences. Despite the patriotic theme and intense performances, the film has failed to ignite excitement among mass viewers.

Occupancy and audience reception

While critics have praised ‘Ground Zero’ for its earnest storytelling and Emraan Hashmi’s gripping performance, audience turnout in theatres has remained disappointingly low. The film’s realistic tone and niche subject matter may have limited its appeal beyond a specific segment. Without a strong weekend surge, the film’s chances of a major turnaround look slim.
