Curry leaf plant
You can buy curry leaves either from nursery or you can plant it with its seeds. But it will take some hard work and time. Apart from this, a new plant can be planted from the branch of an old curry leaf plant. For this, take a 12 to 18 inches deep and wide pot. Keep in mind that there must be a drainage hole below, so that the water does not stop. Make light and well water absorbing soil.
Curry leaves like heat and light moisture. The start of summer i.e. from February to April and June is best for applying it. At this time the soil is hot and the plant can grow properly. If you are applying it in the pot, then apply some sand and cow dung manure in the soil. For this, sandy-dome soil is considered the best. The plant also grows good in monsoon, but spring is better for initial plantation. It likes sunshine. So choose a place where there is at least 5 to 6 hours of direct sunlight. You can apply it in pot or in the ground. Along with this, you can add sour curd or buttermilk in the soil.
How to take care according to the weather?
Heat – In this season, give water to the curry leaves every 2 days, the soil should not remain dry but should not be too wet. Apart from this, add cow dung manure or vermicomost in it. Apart from this, keep it in the sun, because at this time the plant can grow properly. If the sun and temperature are very high, then keep it a little away from the strong sun in the afternoon.
Monsoon – If you talk about the monsoon, give less water in the rain because due to excess rain, the right water of the plants is available. Apart from this, do not allow water to accumulate in the pot, otherwise its root can rot. During the monsoon, you can sort some of this plant so that new branches grow and add the right manure to it.
winter – Curry leaves can be kept in the whole sun in this month. Give water only after 1 to 2 a week, when the soil starts drying up. Every 2 months, if you put the right amount of proper manure in the plant once every 2 months, it will still be right. Along with this, keep in mind that its growth slows down in winter, so do not give too much harvesting or fertilizer.
Careful things
Keep harvesting and sorting every 2 to 3 months. This brings new and green branches. Excess water or lack of nutrition can make the leaves turn yellow. If the roots are very tight, then take a big pot. If the plant is growing from the seeds, then note that the seeds are fresh and dried seeds do not work. Also, it takes time to grow a plant from seeds.
