Grand celebrations of the 92nd birthday of HH Mahant Swami Maharaj, the present spiritual head of BAPS

The culmination of the much-anticipated 92nd Janma Jayanti Mahotsav of Mahant Swami Maharaj, the present spiritual head of BAPS, which had resonated throughout the past five months, unfolded today in grand splendour in Vadodara.

Along with special videos portraying the egolessness, humility, elevated spiritual state of Mahant Swami Maharaj and his selfless services, senior swamis of BAPS delivered inspiring discourses highlighting his divine life, virtues, and contributions. On this occasion, the distinguished guests—the Hon. Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, and the Hon. Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Mohan Yadav—were warmly welcomed by senior swamis of BAPS.

Inspired by Mahant Swami Maharaj, more than 15,000 children aged between 3 and 13 years from the BAPS completed the full Sanskrit recitation of the Satsang Diksha scripture within one year.

Composed by Mahant Swami Maharaj and comprising 315 shlokas, the Satsang Diksha provides guidance for an elevated spiritual, moral, social, and practical way of life.

It is a historic and rare achievement that, 15,666 children collectively recited and chanted the entire scripture—comprising all 315 shlokas—within a single year.

Out of the 15,666 children who had completed the recitation, a total of 12,723 children were physically present at the venue and were officially acknowledged by the Guinness World Records authorities for the registration of the record.

On this occasion, a letter of greetings sent by the Hon. Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation, Shri Amitbhai Shah, was read out.

On the occasion of Mahant Swami Maharaj’s birthday, the Hon. Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, and the Hon. Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Mohan Yadav, conveyed their greetings and received his blessings. Referring to Jabalpur, the birthplace of Mahant Swami Maharaj, Hon. Chief Minister Shri Mohan Yadav expressed a sense of pride and joy.

After devotees reverently offered mantra-pushpanjali to Mahant Swami Maharaj, the programme culminated in a moving atmosphere as a collective aarti was performed amid the illumination of lakhs of diyas.

At the conclusion of the celebrations, Mahant Swami Maharaj also blessed everyone with inspiring words, encouraging all to lead an elevated spiritual life.

The birthday celebrations were attended by 800 BAPS swamis and nearly two lakh devotees at the venue.

The planning and preparations for this celebration event took over 3 months with the efforts of hundreds of BAPS swamis and 14,000 volunteers in 34 different departments.

The Vadodara Municipal Corporations provided their full support with regards to security, safety and their services to make the eventful celebration possible.
The celebration became a heartfelt offering of gratitude, inspiring all to live with the spirit of humility, faith, and selfless service.
