A bench of Justices Naveen Chawla and Justice Shailinder Kaur heard the case. Apart from Khalid and Imam, the bench also dismissed the bail petitions of Mohammad Salim Khan, Shifa ur Rahman, Athar Khan, Miran Haider, Shadab Ahmed Abdul Khalid Saifi and Gulfisha Fatima. The bail petitions of Imam and Khalid are pending since 2022. The lawyer appearing in the court on behalf of these workers said that the verdict will be challenged in the Supreme Court.

Violence took place in North-East Delhi due to CAA, 50 people were killed

Earlier, the second bench of the High Court in the same case rejected the bail plea of ​​another accused Taslim Ahmed. In February 2020, there was communal violence in North-East Delhi over CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act). Due to this, more than 50 people were killed and more than 700 were injured. Imam and Khalid were accused of being part of a large conspiracy related to violence.
