Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described the General Budget 2026-27 as a balanced document of reform, growth and fiscal discipline. He said that this budget will make Uttar Pradesh a leader in investment, employment, infrastructure and the goal of Developed India-2047.
Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in the press conference held on the General Budget 2026-27 on Monday that the direct benefits of the journey of development that the country has undertaken in the last 11 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are now visible to the common citizens at the ground level. He said that this budget is a balanced document of reform, growth and fiscal discipline, which will provide new opportunities for development, investment and employment to Uttar Pradesh along with building a new India. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the General Budget 2026-27 will enable Uttar Pradesh to play a leading role in the goal of ‘Developed India-2047’.
Strong foundation of India empowered by reform, growth and fiscal discipline
CM Yogi said that the balanced inclusion of reform, growth and fiscal discipline is clearly visible in the budget. This budget lays a strong foundation towards building a self-reliant and empowered India keeping in mind the coming generations. He said that this budget has been prepared keeping in mind the needs and expectations of all sections – farmers, youth, women and the poor. This budget opens the doors of new possibilities for Uttar Pradesh, the country’s most populous state.
MSME and ODOP will get the biggest benefits of the budget
The Chief Minister said that the announcement of provision of Rs 10,000 crore for the MSME sector in the budget is extremely important for Uttar Pradesh. He said that about 96 lakh MSME units are active in the state, with which about three crore people are directly or indirectly connected. This fund will prove especially beneficial for the ODOP scheme, which Uttar Pradesh has successfully linked to branding, designing, packaging and exports. This will facilitate access to new technology, skill training and global markets.
UP will become the national center of connectivity and logistics
The Chief Minister said that the announcement of infrastructure fund of Rs 12.20 lakh crore in the budget will give a new impetus to connectivity and industrial development in Uttar Pradesh. Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors are passing through Uttar Pradesh, thereby developing the country’s largest logistics hub in the state. Industry, trade and employment will directly benefit from this.
Goods transportation through inland waterways will be cheaper and faster.
CM Yogi said that the role of Uttar Pradesh is very important among the 20 inland waterways declared in the country. The country’s first inland waterway from Varanasi to Haldia has already started. Its extension to Varanasi, Prayagraj and Yamuna river will strengthen cargo movement. Developing ship repair and maintenance ecosystem in Varanasi will reduce logistics costs.
UP will get high-speed connectivity through high-speed rail corridor
The Chief Minister said that out of the 7 high-speed rail corridors announced in the budget, Uttar Pradesh has got 2 corridors. The speed of these trains will be 300 to 500 km per hour. This will reduce travel time and give new impetus to industry, tourism and trade.
Uttar Pradesh’s increasing role in bio-pharma sector
The Chief Minister said that the 1,200 acre Bulk Drug Park in Lalitpur and the Medical Device Park in Gautam Buddha Nagar are developing rapidly. A provision of Rs 10,000 crore has been made in the budget for the bio-pharma sector. The participation of investors from across the country in the Pharma Conclave organized in Lucknow shows the preparedness of Uttar Pradesh.
Digital-Rural Development through Data Center Hub and Gram Swaraj
CM Yogi said that data centers are being developed in Uttar Pradesh with an investment of more than Rs 22,000 crore. So far, data centers of approximately 700 MW capacity have been established. Also, more than 1.05 lakh gram panchayats of the state will get direct benefits from the Mahatma Gandhi Gram Swaraj Yojana announced in the budget and rural products will be linked to the global market.
Tourism, heritage and religious places will get global recognition
The Chief Minister said that if basic facilities and security are available, any place can become a world class tourist destination. The historical success of Magh Mela is an example of this. There is a provision in the budget for the development of 15 archaeological sites of the country, which include Sarnath and Hastinapur. This will further strengthen the tourism of UP.
UP’s strong position in semiconductor, electronics and defense
CM Yogi said that Uttar Pradesh will get direct benefits from the semiconductor park announced in the budget. In electronic manufacturing, 55% of the country’s mobile phones and 60% of its components are being made in UP. Under the Defense Corridor, investment proposals worth Rs 12-13 thousand crore have been received, due to which about 40,000 jobs have been created.
New strength to health, education and sports infrastructure
The Chief Minister said that the capacity of district hospitals will be increased and emergency-trauma centers will be opened in every district. ‘Samarth Scheme’ has been launched to promote the sports industry. Major Dhyan Chand Sports University in Meerut will be completed by April.
CM Yogi’s attack on PDA: Real target is familyism
The Chief Minister said that PDA is only an excuse, the real goal is familyism. Earlier, while in power, there was no concern for the poor, farmers and youth. Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working considering the entire country as a family. This budget is a reflection of the new India and the new Uttar Pradesh – where there are roads, speed, investment and trust.
