Uttarakhand Cabinet approved many important proposals related to education, tourism, employment and finance. This includes land for the institute in Pithoragarh, new rules of rafting, formation of foreign employment cell and stopping of grants to madrassas from 2027-28.

Dehradun. In the meeting of the State Cabinet held today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, approval was given to many important proposals to give impetus to the overall development of the state, education, tourism, financial administration, youth employment, forest conservation and good governance.

Approval for transfer of 14.857 hectares of land in Pithoragarh

It was decided to transfer a total of 14.857 hectares of land to the Department of Technical Education for the proper development of the Nanhi Pari Frontier Technology Institute under construction at Mardhura in Pithoragarh as per AICTE standards. With this, world class educational infrastructure including academic buildings, hostels, faculty residence, sports complex, auditorium and modern laboratories will be developed.

Tourist safety given priority

With the aim of making adventure tourism more safe and organized in the state, the promulgation of “Uttarakhand River Rafting/Kayaking Amendment Rules-2026” was approved. The new rules include penal provisions to enforce safety standards and against operators who violate rules.

Quality midday meal will be provided through Akshaya Patra Foundation in Srinagar

Under the PM Nutrition Scheme, permission was given to provide cooked midday meal to the students of classes 1 to 8 in the schools selected by Akshaya Patra Foundation from the centralized kitchen located in Srinagar (Pauri Garhwal).

Benefits of seventh pay scale to employees of State Warehousing Corporation

The proposal to give the benefit of pay scale to 68 regular employees of Uttarakhand State Warehousing Corporation as per the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission was approved. This decision will not impose any additional financial burden on the state government and the corporation will bear the expenses from its own resources.

Creation of two posts for transparent audit of Kumbh Mela-2027

To make the concurrent audit of Haridwar Kumbh Mela-2027 effective, approval was given to create a total of two posts including one technical expert and one senior audit officer.

Approval of amendment in Uttarakhand Finance Service Rules

The amendment proposal was approved to remove the anomalies arising in Uttarakhand Financial Service Rules related to promotion, so that the promotion process through Uttarakhand Public Service Commission can be conducted smoothly.

Finance audit cell will be more powerful

With the aim of strengthening the financial monitoring and audit system in the state, it was decided to update the structure of the Finance Audit Cell. Under this, approval was given for upgradation of posts, change in recruitment source and creation of two new posts.

Will connect with employment opportunities abroad

The formation of a Project Management Unit (PMU) with seven posts was approved for the successful operation of the Foreign Employment Cell established at Sahaspur Skill Hub under the Youth Skill Development and Employment Department of Uttarakhand. This will help in connecting the youth with employment opportunities, training and placement available abroad.

Cabinet’s guidance on compliance with the instructions of the Supreme Court in the Bapugram Reserved Forest case. The Cabinet provided necessary guidance regarding compliance with the instructions of the Supreme Court and future action related to the Bapugram Reserved Forest located in Rishikesh.

The budget item of the grant scheme of Arabia Madrasas will end from the financial year 2027-28. New implementation will be implemented in the state.

In line with the minority education system, the Cabinet approved the proposal to abolish the budget standard item related to “Grants to Arabiya Madrassas” from the financial year 2027-28. Under the new system, only institutions approved by Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority will operate. With these decisions of the Cabinet, development and public welfare efforts will become more effective along with giving new momentum to higher education, tourism, school education, financial good governance, youth employment, forest conservation and administrative system in the state.
