Fast bowler Mayank Yadav’s return to the Indian Premier League was delayed on Tuesday, April 22, despite being named in the Impact Player list for Lucknow Super Giants’ match against Delhi Capitals.
Playing at the Ekana Stadium, Mayank was one of the potential substitutes who could have come into the game in the second innings, but LSG had to abandon that plan due to a batting failure.
LSG couldn’t bring Mayank into the team after they subbed in Ayush Badoni in the first innings. This change came after LSG suffered a mini-collapse with the bat. Despite starting well and scoring 80 runs without losing a wicket, LSG lost four wickets in just 24 balls, between the 10th and 14th overs.

This collapse forced LSG to act quickly and send in Ayush Badoni as the Impact Player, even though Rishabh Pant was in the playing XI. The broadcasters suggested that Pant wasn’t brought in due to an injury to his right hand, which may have limited his involvement in the match.
