ERO-AERO will organize special camps for the second phase of SIR campaign in Uttarakhand. In view of the monsoon, special arrangements will be made for the convenience of voters and disposal of claims and objections.

Dehradun. Chief Electoral Officer of Uttarakhand Dr. B.V.R.C. On Friday, Purushottam held a review meeting of the Special Intensive Revision Campaign (SIR) through video conference with the Divisional Commissioners and all the District Magistrates of Kumaon and Garhwal divisions. During this, he issued many important instructions regarding the next phase of the campaign so that the voters do not have to face any kind of inconvenience.

Instructions for special preparation for draft publication and disposal of claims and objections

In the meeting, the Chief Electoral Officer said that the upcoming stages of SIR, which include publication of draft voter list, issuance of notices and disposal of claims and objections, should be conducted with complete transparency and convenience. He instructed the officials that voters should not face unnecessary trouble during this entire process and all necessary arrangements should be ensured in advance.

In view of monsoon, there will be special arrangements in hilly areas

The Chief Electoral Officer said that during the rainy season, there is a possibility of roads getting disrupted and movement being affected in the hilly districts. Keeping this in view, such arrangements should be made in advance so that voters can easily respond to the notices and participate in the hearing of claims and objections. He directed that at the places where the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) will conduct the hearing, necessary facilities like electricity, drinking water, internet, scanner and photo copy machine should be made available.

Special camps will be organized up to Nyaya Panchayat and ward level

The Chief Electoral Officer directed that for redressal of claims and objections in the hilly areas, cluster based special camps should be organized at the Nyaya Panchayat level and a roster should be prepared in advance for this. Keeping in mind the convenience of voters in the plain areas, special camps should be organized at the Tehsil as well as Municipal Corporation, Nagar Panchayat and Ward level so that maximum number of people can get the facility.

Nodal officers will be deployed from departments for document verification.

In the meeting, instructions were given to the officials to appoint nodal officers from education, revenue, tehsil and other concerned departments for verification of documents to assist ERO and AERO. The Chief Electoral Officer said that at present 70 EROs and about 800 AEROs have been deployed in the state. In the districts where there is a need to increase the number of Assistant Election Registration Officers, instructions have been given to send the proposals to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer by Saturday.

Divisional Commissioner will conduct on-site inspection of districts from July 14

The Chief Electoral Officer directed that the Divisional Commissioner of Kumaon and Garhwal divisions will visit various districts from July 14 and inspect the ground situation of the SIR campaign. He also directed all District Election Officers (DEOs) and EROs to organize meetings with political parties at the district and assembly levels before the publication of the draft voter list and to provide them with the draft voter list in time.

During the video conference, Kumaon Division Commissioner Mr. Deepak Rawat, Garhwal Division Commissioner Mr. Anand Swaroop, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Prakash Chandra Dumka, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Kishan Singh Negi, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Mastu Das and District Magistrates of all the districts were present.
