OnePlus is preparing to flip the usual script on smartphone battery life. The upcoming OnePlus 13T has been officially confirmed to feature a 6260mAh “glacier battery”, a first for compact smartphones.
With a display size of just 6.32 inches, the 13T manages to cram in more power than most large-screen flagshipsa bold move for a device that still qualifies as “small” by today’s standards.
According to Louis Jie, head of OnePlus China, the goal is simple: allow users to go a full dayor longerwithout thinking about the charger. He claims the 13T can handle intense usage, like extended gaming sessions or travel, without needing backup from a power bank. Despite the beefy battery, the phone weighs only 185 grams, making it surprisingly light for what it packs under the hood.
What’s Powering the Longevity
The endurance of the OnePlus 13T isn’t just about battery capacity. It’s also backed by Snapdragon 8 Elite, Qualcomm’s latest high-efficiency chipset. Add to that an LTPO OLED display designed to dynamically adjust its refresh rate for energy savings, and ColorOS 15, which introduces better background power management. Together, these optimizations aim to stretch battery life without sacrificing performance.
Fast charging is also part of the equation. Leaked certifications indicate the 13T will support 80W wired charging, allowing users to top up the massive battery in a short amount of timea key convenience for heavy users.
What Else to Expect: Specs and Features
Rumors point to a 1.5K flat OLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to 1,600 nits brightness. Internally, the phone is expected to ship with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, running Android 15 with ColorOS 15 in China.
Camera specs suggest a dual-lens system, including a 50MP Sony LYT-700 sensor with OIS, paired with a 50MP Samsung JN5 telephoto lens. On the front, a 32MP camera is expected for selfies. OnePlus is likely continuing its Hasselblad tuning partnership for color calibration. Despite all this, the phone maintains an IP68 and IP69 rating and features a metal-and-glass build. The traditional Alert Slider is also reportedly being swapped out for a new Action Button.
More details, including pricing and launch timeline, are expected soon.
