BLA rebels attack Chinese camp in Pakistan’s Gwadar, heavy gunfire and explosions reported

New Delhi: A Chinese camp in Pakistan’s Gwadar has come under attack by fighters of the Baloch Liberation Front. The camp is located in the New Town area of the region and heavy gunfire and fighting broke out here, late last night. Violence has in fact gripped the entire region.

Gunfire and explosions rock camp

According to reports, not only was gunfire heard in the area, but large explosions could also be heard in the vicinity of the Chinese camp. The incident happened late last night.

The BLA even released a statement regarding the Operation it was carrying out in Pakistan. It said, that the Operation, codenamed ‘Operation Hereof’, continues in different parts of Balochistan. This, they said was the second phase of the operation and had been going on for the past 40 hours. The statement claimed that the fighters had successfully completed their operation in different parts of the country, like Kharan, Mastung, Dalbandin, Tump and Pasni and had returned to their secure location.

They however claimed that in areas where the completion of the operations had not been announced, the operations are active and currently going on, said the group. They further said that they have so far eliminated 200 personnel of the Pakistani Army, police and Frontier Corps and captured at least 17 of them. They said that the losses of the enemy were far greater than what is currently estimated and in due course the details about the enemy’s losses will be released to the media.

The statement from the Baloch side also gave the number of their fighters killed in this attack. They said that till now 18 Baloch Liberation Army personnel had been martyred.

They then went on to appeal to the Baloch people to remain vigilant of the enemy. They also asked people to continue to provide support and assistance to the fighters in areas where the end of the Operation had not been announced yet. The group said that ‘Operation Hereof’ was still on.

Woman Baloch fighter’s video released

The BLA also released the video of a woman fighter. They also released a video of the clashes in Gwadar, which also shows a woman suicide bomber. The BLA has identified the female suicide bomber from its organization as Hawa Baloch alias ‘Droshum’ and said that this is her “last message,” recorded 12 hours before her martyrdom.

Sources said that Hawa Baloch was a writer and her father was also previously associated with Baloch armed forces and he had passed away some years ago.In the video, Hawa Baloch is seen appealing to Baloch women to join the armed struggle.

The BLA has also released a separate video showing the suicide bomber, Nako Fazal Baloch. The organization claims he is the oldest suicide bomber in the BLA. This video is reportedly linked to Pasni tehsil.
