The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has reacted swiftly after the decision to include Scotland in place of Bangladesh in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The board has announced a new domestic tournament ODOMMO Bangladesh T20 Cup 2026 to keep the country’s top white-ball players in a competitive environment.
This tournament named ‘ODOMMO’ i.e. ‘Indomitable’ will not be just symbolic but will be a completely competitive event with prize money, match fees and strategic rules.
ODOMMO T20 Cup 2026: Format and dates
ODOMMO Bangladesh T20 Cup will be organized from 5 to 9 February. A total of three teams will participate in this-
Comet XI Darbar XI Duronto XI group stage matches will be played on 5, 6 and 7 February, while the final will be held on 9 February. Cultural programs will start at 4 pm on every match day and matches will start at 6 pm.
Captain and Team Leadership
Many big names of Bangladesh will be seen on the field in this tournament.

The tournament comes at a time when the BCB decided not to go to India for the T20 World Cup—a decision that many players reportedly disagreed with and ultimately cost Scotland a place in the World Cup.
Emphasis on prize money and match fees
BCB has made it clear that the ODOMMO T20 Cup will not be just a ‘consolation tournament’. The board has fixed the total prize money and players’ fees at Taka 2.5 crore (about Rs 1.87 crore). According to board officials, players will also be given additional incentives along with the match fees, so that the competitions remain competitive and the players take it seriously.
Impact player rule will increase excitement
The Impact Player rule will also be implemented in the ODOMMO T20 Cup, giving teams tactical flexibility during matches. This will help in adopting modern T20 trends in domestic cricket and increase the tactical understanding of the players.
Fitness Camp and Preparations
Before the tournament, BCB will organize a fitness camp at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium from February 1. Its objective is to keep the players match-fit and bring them into competitive rhythm, so that they can perform at a high level even during global events.
