Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said on Wednesday that when the previous Mahayuti government flew a plane of development, he was a pilot and Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar co-pilot. Shiv Sena president was addressing an airport for the inauguration of an airport and a commercial passenger flight service in Amravati city of eastern Maharashtra. The current Chief Minister Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Pawar were also present in the event on the occasion.
Targeting Uddhav Thackeray’s former government, Deputy Chief Minister Shinde claimed that the work of Amravati Airport started when Fadnavis was the Chief Minister during 2014-2019, but in 2019, Uddhav Thackeray-Netan Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) came to power. He said that when the government’s government (Mahayuti Sarkar headed by his) came to power in 2022, the construction of the airport was completed rapidly.
“I was the pilot of the aircraft”
Shinde, indirectly sarcastically on the MVA government led by Uddhav Thackeray, claimed that several projects, welfare schemes were discontinued before the Mahayuti government came and development was interrupted. Deputy CM Shinde said, when development and welfare schemes started, I was a pilot of the aircraft and Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar were co-pilots. Now, Fadnavis is a pilot and we are both co-pilots. Now the pilot has changed, but the aircraft of development is the same and we are moving beyond the same speed.
The ruling Mahayuti alliance includes Bharatiya Janata Party, Shiv Sena of Eknath Shinde and Nationalist Congress Party of Ajit Pawar. Opposition MVA includes Uddhav Thackeray -led Shiv Sena (UBT), Sharad Pawar -led Nationalist Congress Party and Congress.
“Everything is fine in Mahayuti”
Earlier, the talk of splitting in Mahayuti government in Maharashtra was coming out recently. Which was rejected outright by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. He had said about the differences of differences that there is just a rumor of splitting inside Mahayuti and there is no truth in it. Shinde had said that everything is fine in the ruling coalition and if there is an issue, it will be resolved by negotiation.
