Sold twice in IPL auction but longing for debut
Tajinder Singh, who played domestic cricket for Rajasthan in India, was first bought by Mumbai Indians in the 2018 IPL auction. After that he was bought by Punjab Kings in the 2020 IPL auction. But he did not get a chance to debut in IPL from either of these two teams. He made his debut in America’s Major League Cricket only last season. This time it is his second season. In these two seasons alone, all-rounder Tajinder Singh has emerged as a match winner for MI New York in MLC.
Fifty feat in 22 balls for the second consecutive season
Tajinder Singh, who came to bat first against Seattle Orcas in the 25th match of MLC 2026, played an unbeaten inning of 66 runs in 27 balls at a strike rate of 244.44 for MI New York. During this, he completed his half-century on the 22nd ball. This was the second half-century of his T20 career, which included 9 fours and 3 sixes.
Tajinder Singh had earlier scored 95 runs in 35 balls against Seattle Orcas in MLC 2025. Even during that innings which was studded with 8 sixes and 8 fours, Tajinder completed his half-century on the 22nd ball only. That was the first half-century of his T20 career.
MI New York defeated Seattle Orcas
In MLC 2026, MI New York, playing first, scored 179 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs on the basis of Tajinder Singh’s powerful inning of 66 runs. In reply, Seattle Orcas could score only 162 runs after losing 6 wickets in 20 overs and lost the match. Apart from Tajinder Singh, Kieron Pollard’s innings of 54 runs also played a big role in this victory of MI New York over Seattle Orcas. Tajinder Singh was adjudged player of the match in MI New York’s victory.
