Allocation of Rs 63,500 crore to PM Kisan Yojana
Budget 2026: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has given a clear message in the 2026 budget that the villages, poor and farmers of the country are at the top of the government’s priority. Government made the biggest bid on VB-Jiram ji
The biggest headline of this budget is related to rural employment. The government has given the largest share of the budget to ‘VB-G RAM G’, which we earlier knew as MNREGA. A huge allocation of Rs 95,692.31 crore has been made for this. If we compare this with last year’s original budget of Rs 86,000 crore, it is a big jump.
The government did not stop here, but a separate provision of Rs 30,000 crore has also been made for the program component of MNREGA. This simply means that employment opportunities will increase in villages. This is a news of relief for the laborers who wandered in search of work or the families who needed financial support. Besides, this will also enable rapid development of small scale infrastructure in villages.
Worry about food plate is over, big arrangement in the budget
The system of free ration, which started after the pandemic, has now become an important part of the lives of poor families. To ensure food security, the government has decided to spend Rs 2,27,429 crore on Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY).
This figure is much higher than last year’s budget of Rs 2.03 lakh crore. Expenditure had also increased in the revised estimates, but this time the allocation shows that the government wants to ensure at any cost that no poor family in the country faces problems with ration. The supply of free or cheap food grains to crores of families will continue unabated.
What did you get this time in PM Kisan Samman Nidhi?
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) is a big support for small and marginal farmers struggling with farming expenses. Rs 63,500 crore has been earmarked for this scheme in Budget 2026. This amount has been kept the same as last year.
Even though it has not increased, this stability is important for farmers. This help coming directly into the bank account plays a big role in settling the fertilizer, seeds and other minor expenses of farming. The government has ensured that this economic security provided to farmers continues without any interruption.
How much money came out of the treasury for Ayushman Bharat?
The expense of illness breaks the back of any middle or poor family. To address this concern, the government has allocated Rs 9,500 crore for Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY). There has been a slight increase in this compared to last year’s revised estimate (8,995 crore). The objective of this scheme is to provide free treatment facility to the poor and weaker sections in big hospitals.
