Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented Budget 2026. In this, he has made many important announcements to strengthen the health sector. The Finance Minister has announced the establishment of three new All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in the country. Along with this, special health facilities have been announced for senior citizens. This step of the government is being considered as giving new strength to the public health system of the country. The government is working towards strengthening Ayurveda by creating three new All India Ayurveda Institutes in the country. With the formation of a new Ayurveda institute, people will be able to get better treatment in Ayurveda.
This step of the government will further promote Ayurvedic education and research. In the new Ayurveda institutes, along with Ayurvedic treatment, focus will also be on modern research. At present, there is already an AIIA in Sarita Vihar, Delhi, which is considered to be the largest institute in the country in terms of Ayurvedic treatment. Thousands of patients come here every day for treatment. Due to this, the trust of patients in Ayurveda is increasing significantly. budget speech During the meeting, the Finance Minister said that in view of the increasing population in the country and the increasing demand for treatment, there is a need for a new Ayurveda institute. With their formation, Ayurveda will get better recognition in the country and globally.
Focus on health of senior citizens
In the general budget, the Finance Minister has made several announcements keeping in mind the health of senior citizens. The Finance Minister said that keeping in mind the diseases that come with increasing age, work will be done to improve the geriatric care centers in hospitals. Under this, there will be separate OPDs and wards for the elderly in government hospitals, affordable medicines and diagnostic tests. The effort will be to ensure that elderly patients can get all types of treatment under one roof. According to the data of NITI Aayog and Health Ministry, the population above 60 years of age in the country is going to increase rapidly in the next 10 to 15 years.
WHO medical center will be upgraded
In the budget speech, the Finance Minister said that WHO’s traditional medicine center in Jamnagar, Gujarat will be further upgraded. With this, Ayurveda, Yoga and Unani will also get international recognition. This center will play a role in global medical research as well as policy making. Upgrading the center will help in better treatment.
