The players of the England cricket team remain in the headlines more because of the controversies that happen outside the field than their sports. Recently, Ben Stokes also had a fight under the influence of alcohol, after which he was suspended from a match, after which he returned to the team and took over the captaincy but he said goodbye to international cricket. To ensure that incidents like Stokes do not happen again, ECB has now made 6 strict rules for its players. Action will be taken against English players who do not follow these rules.

ECB made these 6 rules regarding alcohol

  • Do not consume alcohol from one day before the match till one day after the match ends.
  • Ban on drinking alcohol in public places without permission during matches and series.
  • Curfew from 12 midnight during domestic series and foreign tours.
  • Players cannot stay out after 10 pm without informing the team management.
  • Do not be seen drunk anywhere in public.
  • Do not post anything related to alcohol on social media.

Many English cricketers are trapped in liquor scandal

  • Ben Stokes fought in a London nightclub. He has been involved in liquor related matters before also. He did this in Bristol.
  • Harry Brook fought with a nightclub bouncer while drunk during a tour of New Zealand.
  • Gus Atkinson fought with Stokes the rugby player in the Mistake nightclub.
  • Ben Duckett drank a lot during the Australia tour and was seen drunk in public.

England’s victory

Time will tell to what extent the England players will follow these ECB rules, but at the moment the English team is performing amazingly on the field. T20 World Champion Team India was defeated by England by 9 wickets in the fourth T20 also, with which it took an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series. Now to save the honour, the Indian team will play the last match on 11th July in Southampton.
