Nissan has now launched its new 5-seat Tekton SUV at an introductory price starting from Rs 12.45 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Along with that, the Japanese automaker also revealed a launch timeline for its upcoming model. So, which model is that, and when is it coming? Here’s everything to know about it –
Upcoming Nissan 7-Seater SUV Launch Timeline Revealed

Nissan is set to expand its product lineup in India with new launches. After the launch of Tekton, Nissan currently has 4 offerings for India, and one more model will be added to the pile by the end of Q1, 2027. During the launch event, Guillaume Cartier, Chief Performance Officer, Nissan Motor Corporation, announced that a new Nissan car will launch by the end of Q1, 2027 (i.e by March 2027).
While the brand has not yet revealed details about this model, we expect it to be a 7-seater version of the Tekton. Why? Well, Renault is already set to launch the Boreal (the 7-seater version of the Duster) in India, and Nissan, being in the same group, might also look forward to it. Hence, we expect to see the 7-seat version of the Tekton by March 2027.
What’s New?

While Renault has teased the Boreal quite a few times, Nissan hasn’t shared any information yet about its upcoming 3-row SUV. However, there will be several similarities between Renault’s 7-seat and Nissan’s 7-seat model – just like the Tekton and Duster.
Speaking about the features, we expect the 7-seater to have a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, 6 airbags (standard), dedicated AC vents for all 3 rows, powered and ventilated front seats, wireless charging, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, among others in its package.
Powertrain-wise, expect the same 1.0-litre turbo petrol (98bhp & 166Nm), and a 1.3-litre turbo petrol (161bhp & 280Nm) to do the job. Transmission options include a manual and a DCT gearbox. While the Tekton misses out on the 1.8-litre petrol hybrid engine, it could eventually miss out on the 7-seater version as well (to differentiate it from the Renault SUV).
Expected Price

Nissan always had a competitive approach to pricing. That said, we expect this upcoming Nissan 7-seater SUV to be priced between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 27 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
