What is Union Budget?
The Union Budget is the annual financial statement of the Government of India, which is presented in the Parliament. It tells what the income and expenditure of the government will be in the coming financial year. The budget includes important things like changes in taxes, expenditure and key areas of development, new policies and reforms. Budget 2026 is also special in the sense that this will be the second full budget of Modi Government 3.0 and elections are also to be held in states like West Bengal, Assam this year.
