China hanged 11 people of Ming family who ran online fraud on Myanmar border. These people used to defraud crores of rupees by enslaving Chinese laborers in call centres. After China’s action, these gangs have now become active in Cambodia and Thailand.

Recently, these 11 people were hanged together in China. These were not common people, but members of big business houses and millionaires. These people used to run call centers like a factory for online fraud near the border of China. Here thousands of people were made to work like slaves and in this way crores of rupees were earned.
Who were those 11 people who were hanged by China?
Who were these 11 people? To know this you need to know about Laukkaing city of Myanmar. This city is on the border of China and is considered the center of online fraud in the world. Four families rule here – Ming, Bao, Wei and Liu. The people hanged by China belonged to the Ming family.
These families got possession of the city after 2001. Before that, this area was under the control of a tribal army named MNDAA. In 2000, there was a coup in Myanmar and General Min Aung seized power. General Min drove out the tribal army and handed over the city to four families close to him. He started many illegal businesses here like casino, online scam center, drugs network and money laundering.
Their call centers are spread all over Laukking, where Chinese laborers are employed. They are lured with huge salaries and then made to work as slaves. Guards with guns stand guard outside, so that no one can escape. Those who try to escape are either brutally tortured or killed. The stories of people trapped in this trap are viral on Chinese social media.
Notorious used to run a scam named Crouching Tiger Villa
The recently hanged Ming family ran a scam center called ‘Crouching Tiger Villa’, which was one of the most notorious haunts here. In 2023, there was an escape attempt, in which guards shot and killed about a hundred Chinese workers. This incident created a stir in China, after which China started action against them. For this he called back the old tribal army MNDAA. The army recaptured the city and destroyed the treacherous positions. More than 60 people from all four families were arrested and brought to China and stranded Chinese laborers were also brought back.
When these kingpins were interrogated, shocking things came to light. One of them said that they used to shoot people to relieve boredom. China exposed the stories of labor atrocities and online fraud before the world. Only after this 11 people of Ming family were hanged. Members of the remaining three families are also awaiting death sentence.
But, don’t think that the dens of online fraud have ended. These gangs have now made Cambodia and Thailand their new base. When the main scam centers along the Thai-Myanmar border were closed, these mafia gangs have set up their bases in new areas of Myanmar.
