New Delhi: In massive news, Sunetra Pawar, wife of late Ajit Pawar, is likely to take oath as Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister tomorrow, according to a report by TV9 Marathi. Notably, Ajit Pawar was killed in a plane crash while it was trying to land at the Baramati Airport.
Will Sunetra Pawar become next Deputy CM?
There is a flutter in the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) camp, with Sunetra Pawar’s name seemingly confirmed for the post of Deputy CM, according to the report by TV9 Marathi. If it happens, then Maharashtra will get its first woman Deputy CM ever.
Important meeting to take place tomorrow
An important meeting of all NCP MLAs will be held in Mumbai at 11 am tomorrow, after which Sunetra Pawar will take oath as Deputy Chief Minister in the evening. Ajit Pawar’s political advisor Naresh Arora, has discussed this matter with Sunetra Pawar, and she has agreed to be the Deputy CM. She is likely to take the oath tomorrow evening for the post.
Meanwhile, all senior NCP leaders like Chhagan Bhujbal, Sunil Tatkare, Dhananjay Munde, and Praful Patel had arrived at the residence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for a meeting. After the meeting, Sunetra Pawar’s name has finally been confirmed for the post of Deputy CM, as per the report.
Flutter in the NCP camp
Meanwhile, NCP state president Sunil Tatkare has met Praful Patel, who is the party’s working president. Also, an important meeting of NCP MLAs will be held tomorrow at 11 am, in which the group leader will be elected. In this backdrop, the party has sent a letter to the legislature, demanding that a seat be provided for the MLAs’ meeting tomorrow, which will be held in the Vidhan Bhavan.
Although there is no announcement from the party yet, many NCP leaders have left for Mumbai as a precaution. It is being reported that many MLAs will reach Mumbai tonight, and some by tomorrow morning.
