He says that the rich cultural, spiritual and historical identity of Uttar Pradesh should be clearly visible as soon as you enter Lucknow.

Theme based entrance gates on seven major routes

In an important meeting held on Friday, the Chief Minister directed that entry gates reflecting the respective religious and cultural identities should be made on the major routes leading from Lucknow to Prayagraj, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Naimisharanya, Hastinapur, Mathura and Jhansi. Each entrance will reflect the mythological, historical and spiritual heritage of that destination.

Names and cultural patterns of entrances

The Chief Minister discussed in detail the names and nature of the entry gates. ‘Sangam Dwar’ depicting the tradition of Triveni Sangam and Mahakumbh will be built on Prayagraj Marg (Rae Bareli Road), ‘Nandi Dwar’ depicting Kashi Vishwanath Dham on Varanasi Marg (Sultanpur Road) and ‘Surya Dwar’ based on the tradition of Lord Shri Ram on Ayodhya Marg (Barabanki Road).

Similarly, ‘Vyas Dwar’ will be installed on Naimisharanya Marg (Sitapur Road), ‘Dharm Dwar’ on Hastinapur Marg (Hardoi Road), ‘Krishna Dwar’ on Mathura Marg (Agra Road) and ‘Shaurya Dwar’, a symbol of bravery, will be installed on Jhansi Marg (Unnao Road). The state emblem of Uttar Pradesh will be compulsorily displayed at all entry gates.

These gates will be made aesthetic and meaningful through stone carvings, pillars, murals, fountains, lighting and green landscape. The aim is to give travelers a cultural experience as soon as they enter Lucknow.
