Gujarat’s tableau won the Popular Choice Award for the fourth consecutive time in the Republic Parade 2026. The tableau made on the theme of ‘Vande Mataram’ was appreciated at the national level and Gujarat achieved a new achievement.
Gandhinagar. Gujarat’s tableau won the first position in the ‘Popular Choice Category’ for the fourth consecutive time in the grand parade organized on the duty path in New Delhi on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day. Gujarat was formally presented with the trophy and awards for this achievement on Friday. This honor reflects the national level acceptance of Gujarat’s cultural presentation and creativity.
Received honor in a ceremony organized at National Theater
Union Minister of State for Defence, Shri Sanjay Seth presented the trophy and certificates at the award distribution ceremony held at the National Theater Camp in New Delhi. On behalf of the state of Gujarat, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Dr. Vikrant Pandey and Information Commissioner Shri Kishore Bachani accepted this honor. The tableaux and cultural presentations of various states were appreciated in the function.
Gujarat also gets incentive award in cultural dance competition
During the tableau production, Gujarat’s presentation also received incentive award in the cultural dance competition organized among the artists of different states at the National Theatre. This gave additional recognition to the folk art and cultural expression of the state.
This year’s tableau was based on the theme ‘Vande Mataram’
This year the tableau of Gujarat was based on the theme ‘Mantra of Independence: Vande Mataram’. It was produced by the Office of the Information Commissioner of the Government of Gujarat. The tableau featured an impressive display of patriotism, freedom movement and cultural heritage, which was highly appreciated by the audience.
Important role of construction team and guidance
Under the guidance of Information Commissioner Shri Kishore Bachani and guidance of Additional Information Director Shri Arvind Patel, Joint Information Director Dr. Sanjay Kachot and Deputy Director of Film Production Branch Ms. Bhavana Vasava handled the entire work of making the tableau. Due to the collective efforts of the entire team, this presentation was appreciated at the national level.
Gujarat’s winning tradition from 2023 to 2026
This victory of Gujarat is part of a continuing tradition.
- In the year 2023, the ‘Clean Green Energized Gujarat’ tableau received the Popular Choice Award.
- In the year 2024, ‘Dhordo: World Best Tourism Village’ tableau secured 2nd place in Jury’s Choice along with Popular Choice.
- In the year 2025, the tableau ‘Anartapurathi Ektanagar Sudhi – Virasathathi Vikasno Awadhav Sangam’ also won the Popular Choice Award.
- Now in the year 2026, Gujarat has created a new history by winning this national honor for the fourth consecutive time.
