CM Mohan Yadav Flower Exhibition: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Friday inaugurated the state level flower exhibition organized at the Government Rose Garden, Link Road No. 1, Bhopal. This event was organized under the Farmer Welfare Year 2026. The Chief Minister visited the exhibition and interacted with farmers, nursery operators and flower lovers. On this occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions and distributed benefits to the beneficiaries of government schemes. He released the brochure of Horticulture Department. During the programme, a short film based on horticulture activities of the state was also shown.
Madhya Pradesh among the leading flower producing states of the country
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that flowers are not only beautiful creations of nature, but they also give a powerful expression of our emotions. From birth to every auspicious occasion of life, flowers express our feelings. He said that today these flowers are becoming a medium to increase the income of farmers, encourage rural entrepreneurship and strengthen exports. It is a matter of pride that Madhya Pradesh is among the leading flower producing states of the country. Now the fragrance of flowers produced in the state is reaching international markets like Paris and London. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also announced to extend the duration of the one-day state level flower festival organized in Bhopal to three days.
Incentive to farmers for flower cultivation on commercial level
The Chief Minister said that through the state level flower festival, farmers are being motivated to cultivate flowers on a commercial level. Farmers of the state are continuously increasing their income through flower production. In this event, flower growers, nursery operators and buyers have gathered on one platform. Here farmers are being given information about market possibilities, new technologies and advanced flower cultivation. He said that the area under flower cultivation in the state is continuously increasing. The farmers of the state are sending not only flowers but also their feelings to the country and abroad.
40 thousand farmers associated with flower production in the state
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed that about 40 thousand farmers are involved in flower production in the state and flowers are being cultivated in about 45 thousand hectare area. Every year lakhs of tonnes of flowers are being sent to Gujarat, Maharashtra and other states and also to foreign countries. The state government is providing technical training and grant assistance to farmers to promote flower production. The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh is the second largest flower producing state in the country. In the year 2021-22, the area under flower cultivation in the state was 37 thousand hectares, which has now increased to 44 thousand hectares. At present the flower production of the state has reached 86 lakh tonnes.
Government’s continuous initiatives for the welfare of farmers
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the state government is making continuous efforts for the welfare of farmers. The amount is being paid to soybean farmers under Bhavantar Scheme. Farmers are being given a price of Rs 2600 per quintal of wheat. He said that it is possible that the price of wheat may be raised to Rs 2700 per quintal in the year 2026 and by the year 2030 this price may reach Rs 3000 per quintal.
Farmer friendly schemes under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi
The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the state government never compromises with the interests of the farmers. To increase the income of farmers, they are being linked to schemes in areas like horticulture, milk production, fisheries. Under Farmer Welfare Year, 16 departments of the state government are working together. Describing irrigation as the basis of agriculture, the Chief Minister said that adequate grants are being given to farmers in micro irrigation schemes. Under the Prime Minister Micro Food Enterprises Scheme (PMFME), up to 45 percent subsidy is being given to the beneficiaries. Besides, grants are also being provided for establishment of polyhouse and shednet house.
