Accident happened while working in the evening
According to police and local people, the incident occurred around 5:17 pm on Sunday evening. Shoaib was cutting meat inside the shop when he came in contact with an open electrical wire connected to a nearby switchboard. It is seen in the CCTV footage that he falls down a few moments after the shock. Seeing him getting electrocuted, there was panic among the nearby shopkeepers and customers.

Eyewitnesses said that initially many people were hesitant to touch him out of fear. Some people were trying to help from a distance, while others were looking for a way to cut off the power supply.
People showed courage and switched off electricity
After a few tense moments, the two men, with the help of a girl, removed the live wire and switched off the electricity connection. Only after this were people able to reach Shoaib safely and took him to Maharaja Agrasen Hospital in Rohini Sector-22. Doctors declared him dead during treatment. Delhi Police said that they received information from the hospital and have started further investigation into the matter. After postmortem the body was handed over to the family members.
