Muzaffarpur Cyber Police has uncovered a big gang who cheated crores of rupees from hundreds of people by betting on the name of Dream XI app in the IPL. The police raided Majholia Rasulpur Jilani Mohalla in Muzaffarpur and arrested three miscreants. These cyber miscreants had maintained their office in a house on Majholia Road.
These crooks are from Gopalganj and Siwan districts. However, the kingpin of this cheating gang escaped from the spot. At the same time, the police have recovered ATM cards connected to 10 different bank accounts, eight mobiles used in cheating, Rs 65,310 cash, two Google pay scanners two smart watch, two head phones one PAN card, and two SIM cards from the arrested miscreants.
Fraud in the name of winning money in IPL
Cyber DSP Himanshu Kumar said that the police was constantly getting information that people were being cheated in the name of winning money in the IPL match. Meanwhile, his hand mobile number was handed over. His location was taken out. The location Majhaulia Rasulpur was found in Jilani Mohalla. After this a team of police was formed. A two -storey house of rent was laid siege in Majholia.
Used to give a reward of crores
Cyber DSP said that there were four youths in the room. The mobile was checked. The number which was found was found in Brijesh’s mobile of Sim Siwan. When the police questioned Brajesh, he made a complete disclosure. Brajesh told the police that he would give people to the people of betting and Dream 11 apps to win one crore prize in the IPL match and cheat the money. He told that he used to target those who could not win the dream 11 paise. He would ask for money from those people and promise to make them a millionaire. Never return the money again.
People used to trap like this in the trap
The arrested miscreants told the police that those people were to connect people to the group through Telegram AM. Earlier, he used to collect money in the name of membership. After that he was lured. Used to cheat four to five times. Those who refused to give money, they used to block them.
The main accused absconding
Cyber DSP Himanshu Kumar said that this gang has cheated hundreds of people from different states so far. The police have arrested Sandeep and Brijesh of Alok Gopalganj in Siwan district. The chief kingpin Prince escaped from the spot, for which raids are being conducted for arrest.
