A case of fraud of Rs 22 crore has been registered against its owner Ritesh Aggarwal.
Some hotel owners in Jaipur, Rajasthan have accused Oyo of cheating. It is alleged that Oyo has made money by making fake bookings in their hotels. OYO has increased its income by wrongly booking hotels, due to which the hotels are facing tax collection and penalty of crores of rupees from the GST department.
22 crores fraud
Hussain Khan, president of the Hotel Federation of Rajasthan, has expressed concern about the matter. It is described as a major problem for hotel owners. Oyo founder Ritesh Aggarwal has been accused by a hotel operator of cheating Rs 22 crore. FIR has also been lodged. More than 10 hotel owners of Jodhpur have received notice of State GST and Central GST. Some people have to pay more than 1 crore rupees.
How to get fraud
Hotel owners have alleged that online hotels are booked first through Oyo, then canceled it after some time. For this, GST charge is levied, which hotel owners have to pay.
