Communal violence continues in the Waqf Amendment Act in Murshidabad district of West Bengal. Hundreds of people affected by the violence have crossed the Bhagirathi river and took refuge in Malda. Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Legislative Assembly and BJP MLA Suvendu Adhikari on Sunday appealed to help the Hindus of Murshidabad. Also, Governor CV Anand Bose has requested to activate the Red Cross Society.
Suvendu Adhikari said that the recent violence and organized attacks on Hindus in Suti, Samserganj, Jangipur, Dhulian, Farakka and other areas of Murshidabad district have put many Hindu families in crisis. Hundreds of Hindus have been displaced and are taking shelter in neighboring districts. Those who could not go out, they have to struggle. Their houses have been looted and vandalized. Even their drinking water sources like ponds and wells have become poisonous.
‘Your contribution can bring a big change’
BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari wrote on his X, ‘Today some people have returned to their homes with the help of BSF personnel. District administration and Superintendent of Police are not allowing people to reach these areas for distribution of relief material. I am sending email in this regard, but so far no response has been received from them. He appealed to the people to help and said that your contribution can bring a big change.

Violence and ruin scene for the third consecutive day
The violence and ruin during the protest against the Waqf Act in Murshidabad district of West Bengal was also seen on the roads on Sunday. Police and Central Armed Forces are patrolling in sensitive areas of Dhulia, Shamsherganj and Sati areas, where violence has been going on for the last two days. So far 150 people have been arrested. Curfew is implemented under Section 163 of BNSS in violence affected areas and internet services are closed.
