Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi this morning interacted with CEOs and experts working in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at his residence on Lok Kalyan Marg. Keeping in mind the India-AI Impact Summit to be held in February, the objective of this conversation was to increase strategic collaboration in AI, bring AI innovation to the fore and rapidly achieve the goals of India’s AI Mission. During the conversation, the CEO gave full support to the goal of becoming self-reliant in AI technology. He also said that the efforts and resources that the government is putting in to bring India forward in AI at the global level are praiseworthy.
The Prime Minister stressed the need to adopt new technology in all sectors and use it properly for the development of the country. He also talked about promoting the use of indigenous technology in important sectors. Regarding the upcoming AI Impact Summit, the Prime Minister said that all people and companies should take full advantage of this summit, explore new opportunities and move rapidly in the direction of growth. He also said that through UPI, India has shown its technological strength to the world and similar wonders can be done in the AI sector also.
PM appealed
The Prime Minister said that India has such a unique combination of scale, diversity and democracy, due to which the world trusts India’s digital infrastructure. Under his vision of AI for All, he said that India should create such technology which both creates impact and inspires the world. He appealed to CEOs and experts to make India a strong and reliable center for global AI initiatives.
The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of democratization of data and technology. He said that we have to create such an AI ecosystem which is transparent, fair and secure. There should be no compromise with the ethical use of AI. Along with this, he expressed the need to focus on AI skilling and talent development. The Prime Minister said that the country’s values and characters should be clearly visible in India’s AI ecosystem.
CEOs of companies like Wipro, TCS, HCL Tech, Zoho Corporation, LTI Mindtree, Jio Platforms Limited, AdaniConneX, Nxtra Data and Netweb Technology participated in this high-level roundtable meeting. Apart from this, experts from IIIT Hyderabad, IIT Madras and IIT Bombay were also present. Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Union Minister of State Rajiv Chandrashekhar were also part of this conversation.
