People who came home from Murshidabad have taken shelter in a school in Malda. Local people say that about 500 people of Dhulian, Shamsherganj have taken refuge in a school in Vaishnavanagar, Malda, however, administrative officials say the number is close to 170.
At the same time, the homeless people claim that their homes have been vandalized and they have been burnt. Not only this, poison has also been added to the water. He somehow managed to escape from his homes with the help of BSF and police.
The homeless people no longer have the right to their house and land. About 500 families have taken place in Vaishnavanagar Parlal High School due to fear of attacks. The fear of losing everything is being eaten. Fearing his life, he left his ancestral home and went across the river and now lives in the neighboring district.
Fire in houses, protesters attacked
People from many areas including Shamsherganj and Dhulian are living their lives in small rooms of that school. The protesters have not left gold, jewelery, money, household goods, furniture and even livestock.
The police is repeatedly coming to that relief camp. People are showing anger in front of them. Now the biggest question for him is whether they will get that land or house back when they return home. The administration is giving shelter. But where is the police? Due to the inaction of the police, they are leaving their home today.
On Sunday, a delegation of five BJP MLAs came to meet the affected people. A total of five people including Habipur MLA Jewel Murmu, Gangarampur MLA Satyendranath Rai and Ghazal MLA Chinmay Dev Burman had come. The victims requested to save the legislators.
Neither remained home nor any whereabouts
A woman said, we have neither home nor hideout. He has set fire to whatever we had. They put petrol on them and set the house on fire. They have added poison to the water tank, what will we eat? How will we live? We came here yesterday afternoon. He said that we have run here by boat. They have taken us to the police.
Another woman said, “They broke the tank. They do not even give us water to drink. The children have not eaten anything since morning. The whole family is starving. They burnt all our houses. We were able to run away, because there was BSF there.”
Pankaj Tamang, SDO of Malda (Sadar), said, “We have made arrangements for those who have come since yesterday. We have made all arrangements for them. Also, they have been given clothes. Drinking water is being given. I think 170 people have come. Some people have gone to their family.
