Gujarat’s ‘Mantra of Independence: Vande Mataram’ tableau won the Popular Choice Award in the National Parade of Dutvapath on Republic Day 2026 by getting 43% votes. This is the fourth consecutive year that Gujarat has secured the first position in this category.
Gandhinagar. On the occasion of 77th Republic Day, Gujarat’s ‘Mantra of Independence: Vande Mataram’ themed tableau attracted special attention of the audience in the National Parade organized on the Dutva Path in New Delhi. This tableau has created a new record by securing first place in the ‘Popular Choice Award’ category in the parade for the fourth consecutive year.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel expressed happiness over the achievement of this tableau prepared by the Information Commissioner’s Office. He said that the tableau of Gujarat has received wide support and appreciation from the public due to its effective presentation of the contribution of the freedom fighters of the state along with the spirit of patriotism.
Gujarat’s historic victory in MyGov voting
Online voting was conducted by the Defense Ministry of the Central Government on MyGov portal from 26 January to 27 January at 11:45 pm. From the beginning till the end of the voting, Gujarat’s tableau remained in the lead and secured first place in the People’s Choice category by receiving 43 percent of the total votes. Uttar Pradesh, which came in second place, got 9 percent of the votes, while the remaining 15 states got relatively lower percentage of votes.
Presentation from ‘Vande Mataram’ to self-reliant India
This year, the tableau presented by the Information Department of Gujarat State depicted ‘Vande Mataram’ and the freedom revolution born out of the Swadeshi movement. Also, the journey to the Swadeshi mantra of self-reliance given by Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi was displayed creatively and effectively.

Gujarat’s tableau’s tradition of continuous victory
This tradition of victory of Gujarat’s tableau started from the 74th Republic Day of the year 2023. That year, the tableau themed ‘Clean Green Energy Gujarat’ showcased the state’s initiative in realizing the Prime Minister’s call for renewable energy and won the Popular Choice Award. After this, on the 75th Republic Day of the year 2024, the tableau with the theme ‘Dhordo – World Best Tourism Village (UNWTO)’ also got the first place in the Popular Choice category. Also, Gujarat’s Jhanki got second place in the Jury Choice category.
In the year 2025, the tableau with the theme ‘From Anartpur to Ektanagar – a wonderful confluence of heritage to development’ also received the Popular Choice Award. In this tableau, Gujarat’s modern development journey was linked to its ancient heritage under the inspiration and guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi.
Republic Day 2026: A new chapter of pride
Taking this sequence forward, in the year 2026, the tableau based on ‘Mantra of Independence: Vande Mataram’ again received the Popular Choice Award. With this, another glorious chapter has been added to the achievements of Gujarat. It is noteworthy that this prestigious award will be given to Gujarat in the presence of the Union State Defense Minister in the closing ceremony of the Republic Day organized at the National Theater Camp in New Delhi on 30th January.
