The first solar eclipse of the year 2026 will take place on Tuesday, February 17. This eclipse will not be visible anywhere in India, hence its Sutak etc. rules will not be valid here. This day will be the full moon date of Phalgun month and Holi festival will also be celebrated on this day. This lunar eclipse will start at 3:20 pm and will be visible till 6:47 pm. However, in India this eclipse will be visible only for 20 minutes. Its sutak will start 9 hours before the eclipse starts.

The occurrence of lunar eclipse on March 3 after solar eclipse on February 17 is indicating some untoward incident. Astrologers believe so. The worst effects will be visible only on the people of those zodiac signs in which this eclipse will occur. The solar eclipse on February 17 will be in Aquarius, while the lunar eclipse on March 3 will be in Leo.
