
South Korean car manufacturer Kia’s sub -compact SUV Kia Syros, launched 2 months ago, has received 5 star ratings for safety. Recently, Bharat NCAP conducted a crashed test of Siros and was found a safe car. BNCAP had a crash test of both the high-end HTX+ Petrol- DCT and mid-range of Siros’s Petrol-MT version. The price of Kia Siros is between ₹ 9 lakh to ₹ 17.80 lakh. Both prices are ex-showrooms.
Kia Siros is equipped with many safety features. This includes 6 airbags, tire pressure monitoring systems, EBD with ABS, emergency stop signal, front and rear parking sensors, seatbelt reminders and rear oocative alerts. It also has a breakforce assist system, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management and Level 2 ADAS.
Engine, Power and Transmission Options
Kia Siros is available with two engine options. It has a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine and another 1.5-liter diesel engine. Turbo Petrol variant gives 118 bhp power and 172 Nm peak torque. Apart from this, the diesel engine gives 115 bhp power and 250 Nm strong torque. Both engines are equipped with 6-speed manual transmission. Apart from this, the turbo petrol variant has a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, while the diesel engine has been paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Design and features
Kia Siros has a bold, modern design with a boxy silhouette, vertical stacked LED headlamp and a blacked-off grille, like EV9. This includes flush-fitting door handle, square wheel arch and a black-out C-Pillar. The interior has a new dashboard layout with a 30-inch display-making double 12.3-inch display, a two-spoke steering wheel and a center console with wireless charging.
Mileage and Rival
The compact SUV gives a mileage of 17.68 to 20.75 km per liter based on the type of SUV Kia Siros fuel (petrol or diesel) and transmission (manual or automatic). It is competed with Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3xo, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonnet as well as Skoda Callac in India.
