The Anurag Singh directorial opened to thunderous numbers during the extended Republic Day weekend. In its first four days, Border 2 collected Rs 180 crore worldwide, including a staggering Rs 59 crore on Republic Day alone. The patriotic theme and ensemble cast helped the film build strong momentum early on.

By Tuesday, the film witnessed its first expected dip. Wednesday saw another drop, with the film earning Rs 13 crore net in India. Despite this, the domestic tally now stands at an impressive Rs 213 crore net, translating to around Rs 255 crore gross. Overseas, Border 2 has maintained a steady pace, earning approximately $4.5 million so far. This takes the total global collection to Rs 295 crore within just six days of release, according to Sacnilk.
With these figures, Border 2 has overtaken major Telugu releases to claim the top spot of the year. It first surpassed Prabhas’ The Raja Saab earlier this week and has now gone past Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu, which stood at Rs 278 crore worldwide. As of January 28, Border 2 leads the 2026 box office chart, with a clear gap between itself and the rest of the pack.

Industry trackers expect the film to cross the Rs 300 crore mark on Thursday, a feat that now looks inevitable. A strong second weekend could push the war epic towards the Rs 400 crore club, especially if weekend footfalls rebound as expected.
Headlined by Sunny Deol, the film also stars Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. Supporting roles are played by Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Medha Rana, and Anya Singh.
