The weather in Lucknow is going to be cold and dry on Thursday, 29 January 2026. There will be light to moderate fog in the morning, due to which the roads will be visible. The minimum temperature is expected to be between 10 to 13 degrees, so the effect of cold will be clearly felt while leaving the house in the morning. After the passing of the western disturbance, cold winds blowing from the north-west will keep the weather further cold.
At the time of sunrise around 6:50 am, fog may remain relatively dense and visibility may be limited to 200 to 500 meters. The wind speed will be 10 to 15 kilometers per hour, due to which the cold will sting more. As the day progresses, the sun will start shining around 1 pm and the temperature may rise to 22 degrees, although the sky will remain partly cloudy.
Pollution levels due to fog and haze may also bother people. AQI is likely to be between 150 to 200, which falls in the moderate category. Traffic speed may remain slow on highways and city roads in the morning. Due to low visibility at Amausi Airport, caution is being taken regarding flight operations.
The temperature will start falling rapidly after sunset at 5:45 pm. By night the temperature will stabilize between 10 to 13 degrees. The sky will be mostly clear, the wind speed may reduce to 5 to 8 km per hour, but due to humidity up to 85 percent, the cold will be felt more. Those who go out late at night will need to be especially careful.
According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of fog may persist in Lucknow and Terai areas till January 29 and 30. The temperature will remain almost the same on January 30, while a new western disturbance may become active from January 31, due to which light rain is expected. IMD has said that this time the month of January has been 2-4 degrees colder than normal.
