‘In the Finals, We Gave Our Best’: Rohit and Swami After Finishing Runners-Up at the PRC Battleground

Rohit and Swami finished as runners-up in the Men’s Doubles Intermediate category at the PRC Battleground in Chennai, after a hard-fought final that tested both their fitness and tactics.

Speaking to Pickleball Now after the match, Swami reflected on their overall performance, admitting they grew into the tournament despite falling short in the final. “Yes, it was very good. We started slowly but picked up in the later stages. In the finals, we gave our best, but we couldn’t end up as winners,” Swami said.

Rohit acknowledged the physical challenges they faced on the day but highlighted the team’s effort to adapt during the match. “Actually, we were not in good shape today, but yeah, we tried. We spoke, we worked on some tactics, and somewhat it worked. In the finals, it’s someone’s fault,” Rohit said with a smile.

Swami also spoke positively about the tournament setup and participation, noting that both players competed in multiple categories. “Yeah, it was very good. I played in multiple categories, and he played in a couple. So, it was well organised,” he added.

Despite weather-related interruptions, the duo praised the organisers for their quick response and smooth management. “Unfortunately, the weather played spoilsport in between, but they immediately arranged a different venue, and it was organised very well,” Swami said.

The Men’s Doubles Intermediate final capped off a competitive showing for Rohit and Swami, who impressed throughout the tournament with their resilience and teamwork, even as they settled for a second-place finish.
