Kajal, a female commando posted in the Special Cell of Greater Kailash-1 police station of Delhi Police, was killed by her husband by hitting her on the head with a dumbbell over a dispute over dowry. The woman was attacked by her husband on January 22 in Delhi itself.
On Tuesday, the woman died during treatment at Yashoda Hospital. The woman’s husband is a clerk in the Defense Ministry. A case of attempt to murder has been registered against the woman’s husband at Mohan Garden police station in Delhi. Delhi Police had arrested the accused husband on January 22 and sent him to jail.
Nikhil, a resident of Badi village of Ganaur, Haryana, is a constable at Sansad Marg police station in New Delhi. Nikhil’s sister Kajal was married to Ankur, a resident of Idgah, Ganaur, in the year 2023. Both of them had a love marriage. Ankur and Kajal lived in Mohan Garden, Delhi.
According to Nikhil, even after love marriage with his sister, Ankur and his relatives used to harass him for dowry. There was a dispute between the two on January 22 also. Meanwhile, his sister had called him and told him about the fight.
Nikhil says that while talking to his sister, Ankur hit his sister several times on the head with the dumbbell used for exercise. Five minutes before he could understand anything, Ankur called him and told him that he had killed Kajal. He reached the spot after informing the police.
By then Ankur had admitted Kajal in an unconscious state to Tarak Hospital in Mohan Garden. When there was no improvement, the relatives admitted Kajal to Yashoda Hospital in Nehru Nagar on 24 January. Where Kajal died during treatment on Tuesday. Information about the woman’s death was given to Sihani Gate police from the hospital. After this Delhi Police was informed.
The post-mortem of the woman’s body was conducted on Tuesday itself. On Tuesday night, a team of Delhi Police reached Sihani Gate police station and received the PM report from the police. Delhi Police officials said that a case of attempt to murder was registered against the accused husband at Mohan Garden police station in Delhi on the complaint of brother Nikhil and he was sent to jail on January 22.
After the death of the woman, Delhi Police will increase the section of murder in the case. Nikhil says that both of them have a one and a half year old son.
